Ocean Eyes

It was morning and already it was humid and muggy as the warm storms rumbled through the little sea-faring town. The shops were slowly waking up to welcome the morning drabble of those that would go early for the freshest picks from the farmers market though one store was a much simpler place and seemed almost out of place on the boardwalk front—but no one ever complained with the pastries they would get from the store. The small shutters to the to-go window were opened and the signs were turned around for the little bakery shop by the sea. They would be expecting their usual morning bustle- those coming in for the freshest warmest bread and the softest biscuits by the docks.

The green eyed man sighed dreamily and leaned against the counter as he watched the sea with calm eyes. He had never liked it—but had always respected it at a distance. It seemed so calm but it was so vicious at the same time… he had begun to get lost in his thoughts when the gentle ting of the bell pulled him back to his surroundings. He looked around for his coworker—a kind old woman that had gratefully let him work at the bakery last summer into this one but upon not finding her he went to greet the customer himself. A familiar fisherman as it were with his usual order of two loaves of bread—he said he always enjoyed eating them on lunch with the fresh meat from the market and he’d accept no other bread than what was baked here.

The green-eyed man always chuckled at his words and the tales of the fish that he’d caught but very conveniently never had pictures of entertained him every morning. Waving goodbye he watched him go quietly and his attention then perked back outside where a familiar rattling cart went by the window. He quickly rushed over to see it go past and practically tripped over the mop, apologized to it as if it were sentient and pressed himself against the counter.

The flower cart was his favorite—he never had the chance to go see the store itself but watching it go by stocked with the most tropical and colorful flowers brought a wide smile to his face. It was like every color of the dawn had left the sky and got trapped in the brilliant petals. Something about it was off today, though, and he had never noticed it until the figure was walking past. A raven-haired man sporting a wide brimmed blue straw hat wandered past. He blinked a couple of times—normally it was an older gentleman but it had seemed that they hired new help. He was almost eager for a few moments like every morning to run out there and buy some flowers but like always the tinging of the bell reluctantly called him back to his work.

They’re like a living couch, they’re super soft, extremely cuddly [human and not] but do unfortunately shed….a lot.

I was feeling down and as was swimninja so I drew a little cute pick-me-up picture to make the sads go away.
Characters portrayed are Adrastos the big doofus dog and Magnus is the cutie with the striped shirt.

This is actually my workspace at work! I make the in house brand earrings when I’m not cleaning, mopping, dusting or stocking things. I work in an art retail store (tons of amazing talented people and art is here like aahhhh) called The Fine Arts Company.
But yeah, a typical day.
